Smart Police Vehicles Improve Police Efficiency and Crime Fighting Capabilities
Korea introduces Smart Police Vehicles powered by ASRock Industrial embedded board to increase police officers’ information processing and crime-fighting capabilities. The Smart Portal Vehicles equipped with smart multi-camera, which comprises of a searchlight, an infrared camera, a GPS tracking, and an AVNI system (Automatic Vehicle License Plate Recognition System). The AVNI system reads nearby license plates and sends the data to a control center to identify suspected vehicles and assist with police operations.

To create a Smart Police Vehicle requires a robust and reliable motherboard with feature-rich IOs to power the Intelligent Portal Vehicle System and to connect multiple cameras for continuously high-quality video recording. It uploads evidence and footage to the management platform for automatic vehicle license plate recognition using wireless connections. Moreover, all of the required equipment and software needs to pass the stringent compatibility and performance tests to ensure accuracy and reliability.

ASRock Industrial cooperates with the Korean Police Agency to produce the Smart Police Vehicles, which used the Mini-ITX IMB-191, an Intel® 6th generation Skylake-S Core™ Processor-based motherboard, for Smart Patrol Vehicles to identify suspected vehicles and assist with police operations.
The IMB-191 connects multi-camera via USB 3.0 ports for continuously high-definition video recording. It uploads footages to the management platform by using Wi-Fi connections to compare suspected vehicles with the information in the database. Designed with HDMI port, it supports in-vehicle panel to live view or replay the recording videos together with a vehicle license plate for instant evidence and aid police officers in identifying suspected vehicles.
